Creatures of pure imagination, desire, dreams, and creativity, the Fae folk once lived in tranquility and peace among the humans and in mystical dales sacred to the rituals and celebrations of life. But as man grew in himself and turned away from the mystic, and "barbaric" ways, he created science and reason. The rise of the human civilization is built on the shattered bones and silenced cries of the Fae, the Aos sí. Seeing that both species could not exist in the dead garden that had become earth, the leader of the fae, the great King of the Under Mountain, Sidhe Locke, took his people far away the mortal realm and into the eternal bliss beyond the barriers of reality. For centuries the Aos sí have existed "beneath the mountain" and the back of the Great Turtle, far removed from the memory that was man. Until the Horde came. The destruction and chaos of the Final World War weakened the wall between realities and the Aos sí have returned to eden at last.
The passage ways between the realms are now opened and fae come and go between the two, participating in the events of the moral world or acting on their own agendas. But the fae see that they are not the only cousins of mankind to have returned to the world. They see the undead curse of man's sin growing beneath the ruins of civilization, and the wolves of the wilderness hunting the territories of the regrowing lush nature, and they see the war between the mages for the very salvation of humanity. They see all of this and must decide where they fit in the End of Ages. Some passage ways have been discovered by the Horde and are now guarded by dark mages who would kill any interloper that wished to enter their Empire. The blood and immortal soul of a Fae is a highly valued magical commodity.
The Aos sí are beings of creation, true immortals who live forever not in unlife but with the blessings of dreams. Still, when a Fae has lived as long as it desires, and when its mind is clear on the choice, they can chose to pass on from life and return to the energy of the dreaming.
