For generations the Selkies (Sel-key) dwelt in deep water and isolated northern harbors. They mingled among their animal kin, the seals, and stayed hidden for the humans had forgotten them. More seals who have learned to take the shape of man than man who can take the shape of a seal, they are intune with their native enviornment. With the final war and the shattering of the earth the Selkies streamed from their safe harbors, swarming the oceans of the world to repair the damage that had been done, and to try and prevent further destruction. Usually in their seal form they have been present and yet still secret as the Host and Horde have gathered their factions. No one seems to notice how bodies tossed into the ocean never seem to wash back up on shore.
However, the Selkies are not oblivious to what goes on above their waves. In recent times they have chosen to surface, sending cautious envoys to Host and Horde alike. Selkies are proud and ofen considered a bit primitive as they have a wild and temperamental nature much like the sea from which they come. Their look in human form varied some, but most often they are lithe, with skin colors ranging from golden to near black. Their hair has a very limited range of color, generally going through a spectrum of silver to black though some shades of brown or even hints of green and blue are not unheard of. Their hair tends to always look slick and damp. A Selkie's eyes will always set them apart, as very little white ever shows. Their eyes tend towards dark colors- brown, blue, green, and even amber. Solid black is not uncommon.
