Gifted, or some would say blessed, with the power to wield the magic of life, protection and creation, the Host mages are the quintessential ideal of the "white mage." Following the leadership of the Choir of Three, the Host defends humanity and the world from the rising darkness of the Horde. The Choir of Three are the most pure and righteous of the Host mages, having served the light of the Celestial magic for many years. When a mage joins the council it is customary that they take a Sainted name to lead by.
The Sanctuary of the Host was built on Staten island as a vanguard against the expanding Horde Empire and to protect the humans caught within the war. The Beloved City keeps the humans safe within its white walls and holds the barracks of the Host mages who live and die to defeat the dark powers of the Horde. Everything from recon teams to single agents to strike forces are sent out from the Sanctuary into the ruins of New York to find stray humans, rescue slaves from the Pens and weaken the strength of the Horde.
For as much power as they wield, the mages of the Host are still mortal. They grow, they age, and eventually, they die. Although all of this takes much longer than it does for humans, with some of the oldest Host mages living until 100 to 120 years old. This is the blessing of being given the magic as oppose to the Horde stealing it. So far, no Celestial magic has been found to prolong life or even grant immortality. Such a thing is against nature and thus of the realm of evil.
